Depression is a severe mood disorder that negatively affects your actions, thinking, and feelings. It causes sadness and loneliness and reduces interest in daily activities. It can lead to physical and emotional change that impacts the ability to function and, therefore, affects your work, studies, or any other activity. The good thing is that depression is curable with proper support and treatments.  

People can have different types of depression, such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorder, etc. Here are some of the signs and symptoms of depression-

  • The feeling of sadness, emptiness, and tension.
  • Losing interest in doing activities which were liked before.
  • Lack of sleep or sleeping too much.
  • Not having proper food.
  • Low energy and enthusiasm.
  • Difficulty in concentration, thinking, or decision-making.
  • Physical health problems such as headaches, upset stomach, or sexual problems.
  • Thought of self-harm or suicide.

These symptoms signify a person’s mental health state. It is necessary to seek help with these changes. Also, support from friends, family, and loved ones helps to combat such major mental health issues.
