Delta Airline provides you to make a seat selection as per your desire. Go to the My Trips column of the website while booking or during check-in. There, you can view, choose, or change your seat through the seat map. 
However, if you don’t pick your seat while making your reservation, the airline assigns you seats at check-in. An advance seat selection ensures that you will get one of your choice or desirable seat and sit with your travel companions.
